ABOUT ME
Birth of a Business:
In 1995, while coordinating a musical performance at an upscale department store in Troy, Michigan, which featured a “signing” by a prominent Christmas glass designer, I was encouraged to open my own ornament business which would replicate bust ornaments of the Great Music Masters: Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Brahms, etc.
In 1996, I traveled to Poland to research the factories that provided ornaments to the different designers and the birth of KLASSICS BY KURTIS, INC. became a business.
Klassics by Kurtis, Inc. began by producing ornaments of the Great Music Masters and sold them to: Lincoln Center, Detroit Opera House, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Opera, Dallas Symphony, Chicago Lyric Opera, Los Angeles Symphony, Milwaukee Opera, Melbourne Australia Opera House, and the Sydney Opera House (Sydney, Australia).
By order of the Governor of the State of Michigan, Klassics by Kurtis, Inc. supplied the custom keepsake for the State Christmas parties from 1997-2000.

For the last several years, I have been invited by the local ABC station (WXYZ, Detroit) and NBC station (WDIV-TV, Detroit) to display my ornaments, play the piano and do an interview with a newscast anchor during the holiday season. I have been invited to do a similar spot with the television station in Grand Rapids, Michigan (TV-8).
